Hi everyone.

I am trying to find this feature in MS Access 2007. It was an extremely helpfull feature under Database Utility menu in MS Access 2002.
However I was unable to find it in Access 2007....

Could you, please, explain me how to find a similar utility?

Thank you!

Katrin

Hi Katrina

Click on the Office button, then choose the Manage option. Compact and Repair is the first option on this screen.

Does anyone know if there still a DOS based Compact/Repair under Access 2007, that will be backward compatible to older versions of MS Access?

Steve:
Interesting question what type of DOS based compact and repair do you know of for older versions of access

Here is old code used in VBA to loop through a list of files and issue a compact...
>> DBEngine.CompactDatabase strDbNameFull, strTempFile

Problem I have now is we are moving to Access 2007; and will have legacy Access 2000-2003 MDB files that will still require compact/repair. Looking for a method to loop through a directory share and compact Access files automatically to conserve disk space.

Hard to believe there is still no COTS available for this function...
