How to find out Solaris version 1

I want to find out what version of Solaris (2.6, 7, 8 etc)we have installed. Typing "uname -a" only displays OS and version (SunOS 5.6).

SunOS 5.6 is Solaris 2.6
SunOS 5.7 is Solaris 7
SunOS 5.8 is Solaris 8
 
TRy the foll:

cat /etc/release, this will give u detailed info
