First, yes, the system will see that the set in place is a 7310.

Second, Handsfree programming is done in system programming, where as the conference key is programmed as a "soft key" and done either at the set or inside user preference programming in the system programming session.

To do a site survey enter maintenance and navigate to port dn status.
Start at port 0101 and you will see the dn number and device information, you can even check the firmware of each device by pressing version. Press next to see the remaining ports on the system.
Just jot them down on a piece of paper.
