how to find number of available disk on solaris 8 server

I need to find number of avialable disk on my server. How can I find that out
Please help.

the "format" command will show all the disk in your system.
If you use Volume Manager, you could see the disks with the graphical interface.

I am not sure by what you mean by available disks.
 
If you compare df -k to format you should find the disks with no UFS mounts. (as stated if you use a Volume manager like veritas, disksuite or rm6, you may have disks in use that are not direct UFS mounts) you can drill deeper in format to fink disks with unused partitions The one thing you can't give for your heart's desire is your heart. - Lois McMaster Bujold
