HI buddys,

I have a EMC SAN with Symmetrix DMX800 disk array, Cisco 2940 FC-Switches, Qlogic QLA2340 HBAs and my host is a wonderfull Suse Linux SLES 8 server ! ;)

I explain my problem :

I mask a new volume to my server, and I want to dynamically discover it, I mean WITHOUT rebboting my server or unloading the modular driver.

I try the famous Suse script rescan_scsi_bus.sh And nothing happens... :(

I try echoing /proc/scsi/scsi (with command echo "scsi add-single-device 0 0 0 1" >/proc/scsi/scsi) and...

Nothings happens :(:(:(

I'm exhausted !

PLEASE SAVE MY LIFE !!!!!! I need your help.... :(

Hi Buddy

You can use this command to dynamic scan the device without reboot it

# modprobe -r qla2300

# modprobe -v qla2300

this will rescan all the new device , plus the old one
