Hi

How do I find DNS version on AIX.

Thanks in advance

AIX supports three versions of BIND: 4, 8, and 9. By default, named links to named4

lssrc -s named

If the subsystem status is "active", BIND is running.

To determine your BIND version, as a root user enter:

ls -l /usr/sbin/named

/usr/sbin/named is a soft link to the actual daemon. If it is linked
to named8, you are running version 8 and your system is vulnerable.

Starting named you can see the BIND version on your system in syslog.

stopsrc -s named;startsrc -s named;tail -f /var/adm/syslog
