Hi,
on Windows XP sp3 I would like to have some advance file manager.

Requirements:
1. It should look something like Windows Explorer - single tree on the left and in the right folder content. It should not look like Total Commander (two windows).
2. It should be free of charge (no shareware or similar).
3. It should support tabs.
4. It must be active developed (hate programs that are not developing any more, because can't report bugs and expect to be fixed).
5. It should have as many features as possible. I really like Nautilus on Linux. Is there something similar in Windows?
Thanks

I really like ExplorerXP.
I don't know if it will do all you ask for but it is quite handy.

ExplorerXP - it looks it is dead project. Does not satisfied
condition 4.

I think we should all talk to the browser developers about this - Firefox/Mozilla, Google/Chrome, Opera, Apple/Safari, and Microsoft/IE. Drop into their development forums and add this to the wish lists!

All modern browsers have basic file browsing capability - type c:\Program files into the address bar on a Windows PC and your program files folder is displayed, the folders can be opened, executable files can be run and documents can be opened by their parent associated applications. It is also possible to drag and drop files between different browser windows, create shortcuts, delete, cut and move stuff. Selecting, sorting, moving blocks of files and so on is a different matter, as is the provision of twin panes when acting on local filesystems, or indeed if using the browser for distance file transfer by FTP.

The functionality has not yet been consolidated, so that everything in the browser window behaves exactly as a file manager should - MSIE possibly comes closest, in the way that it looks like Windows Explorer, but not in functionality.

There is also ztreewin. It was based on xtree the DOS program that was the best file manager around.

Never give up never give in.

There are no short cuts to anything worth doing :)

I installed CubicExplorer it is better then Windows Explorer, but has some drawbacks too.

For example:
1. In right panel I can't use New | Folder anymore. I always forget this, that I have to use toolbar.
2. I use some zip files and if I copy file from zip file I can't paste the file in different folder - extract is option.
