I installed a wireless USB NIC yesterday and ever since I have lost my audio on the PC. When I try to play music in Winamp, I get "Bad DirectSound Driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. Error code: 88780078."
So I checked Device Manager and sure enough it says I have no driver for the multimedia audio controller. It's a generic PC and I'm not sure of what driver I need, although I do not have a dedicated audio card(it's on the board). I ran Belarc and aida32 and all I can tell is my motherboard was made by Grantsdale and it may be an Intel 82801FB ICH6. I'm not really sure and I tried one set of drivers and it crashed Windows during installation. All Windows updates have been run. XP Pro SP 3.
Thanks for any help!
