how to filter data in ppx-report opened in excel using vba?

Hi,

we have two ppx-reports opened in different worksheets in one excel file. third worksheet contains main report (what the user will see) which is the combination of two cognos reports.
can we filter this ppx-reports using vba script? for example to change the data period.
