Are there any tools to mimic as if HDD is filled out and only 100MB free space is available. I need this as part of project. I can do this by copying a file multiple times, but that is taking a very long time(u can imagine my situation if I am using 80GB HDD).

Can I somehow manipulate so that the OS seses that there is only 100MB(or whatever id required)?

Unless you need to test for a specific value (100 MB free) you could spoof it by using quota management.

Set the quota to what the value currently is.

Example.

1. 100 GB HD
2. CURRENT Free Space = 50 GB
3. Set quota to 50 GB

I am using windows 20003.
And sometime I use XP also

XP and 2003 work the same in this manner.

GO TO My Computer --> Right Click on a Drive Letter --> Choose Properties

Click on QUOTA tab
