How to fill Access fields form Metrologic bar code scanner 1

How is the scanner connected to the computer, through the keyboard or to the serial port?
If its a keyboard wedge then it a simple matter of puting the windows cursor in a field an scanning ghe barcode. Waht ever is in the barcode will show up in the Access field.
Then you have to dewcide what you want to happen when you scan a barcode. Such as: look up that Invoice number in the database and return that invoice.
Or just input data from tha barcode into the field.
