How to fetch row by position?

I tried to do this as it describes in manual:
0) call xFetch with option 1 (First)
1) get position by xFetch with option 5. Save contains of bDataBuff
2) call xFetch to retrieve a few next rows
3) call xFetch with option 0 (current) and bDataBuff=bDataBuff from 1)
and
position in view didn't change...

What did i do uncorrect?
