How to extract site info from Norstar Manager 1

Only with Norstar Remote Utilities using the workbook to extract to an excel file.
Norstar Manager is for the older systems.

Yes I know....
You need Norstar Manager to open up the DB because thats is the program that created it.
Most DB files always need the program that created it to open it.
NRU on the other hand has made it easier so that you can save it to XLS, fromm XLS you can then convert to most applications such as Word, PDF etc.

I have been able to pull out information by printing the database contents from Norstar Manager to a pdf file (using a pdf virtual printer on my XP PC) and then using monarch software to extract the data.
Monarch allows you to build templates that are applied via software to pdf and text and html and like files and extract into tables data, defined by your templates, from the reports. You can then take the tables and drop them into excel or Sql or other data mining or spreadsheet programs.
Not really worth the effort for just one db, but if you have a number of them, one template will work across many db's and it may be a time saver. However, you still have to open and print the db contents via NM 3.5 or 3.7 before you can harvest the data content.

Wow and I thought I tried everything but does sound like a lot of work. Have you tried this on other db type files?
Questions is with that method can I go through a telset and note porgramming on the sheet just as fast or faster?.
