How to Extract MS SQL 6.5 Database Files

Newbie to Extracting MS SQL 6.5 Database Files.
Situation:
Image files scanned from archived (1920s - 1997) typewritter created documents.
Need to extract/copy database from NT 4.0 Server to another NT 4.0 Server in tact.
Then format and re-image old Server.

Can this be done easily using ODBC Connector?
Appreciate any suggestions and/or links to How To! osaze
