In what way is the quality not fine?

Resolution of 300 dpi should be good for even magazine quality printing, provided that the objects are mainly photos or shapes rather than small text.

That presumes that your design is already at or near its final size. If you have something the size of a postage stamp at 300dpi and enlarge it to full page size, you've got something less than 50 dpi.

Some other possibilities:

The objects in your design might not be good enough. There's no point taking a photo from a web site at about 90 dpi and outputting it at 300 dpi because the program has to "guess" the contents of the pixels it doesn't have and that will lose quality.

Wrong mode settings -- for a photo, you probably want 24 bit RGB colour.

Too much compression -- try one with the compression slider close to the left and see if the results are better. Then progressively move it across using the preview until just before it starts to deteriorate.

Thanks for the links.

I can't tell a lot from the web resolution because they are further scaled down from your submission, but I'm hoping the site's "email this" facility will send them at original resolution and will be back when I have them.

Unfortunately, the site doesn't email images at all, just mails a link back to the same web page with the low screen resolution image. So no help from that.

If you're able to upload the original jpg at I can pick it up from there and see if I can suggest anything.

If possible, also upload CDR file that it came from.
