I have recently been designing my new website on Macromedia Fireworks 3 and have hit a problem. On my photo pages, i have thubnails which, when clicked on will reveal the full sized photo. Before exporting every page, i always double check to see that the links correspond to the right picture. After i have exported the page(s) and uploaded it to the web, i go to look at the page on the internet, and some (or sometimes all) links on the page don't seem to be there. Is there something i'm doing wrong? if so, please let me know so i can sort it out.

Thanks in advance

A couple of things to check. Do the links work on your local machine when they are exported (before you upload them to the web?)

And when the page is uploaded does the status bar of the browser show the correct link address, or has it changed?

Firstly, yes, the links do work on my P.C before i upload them to the web.
When the page is uploaded, the status bar in some cases will show the correct link address, but in most cases it does not.

sounds like the problem is with the FTP, not Fireworks. Are you using dreamweaver as your FTP client? If so you can try to synchronize your sites to make sure the directory structure is correct.

Also check to see that all of your links are relative, not absolute (ie not a href=" so that they refer to directory paths that exist on the server.

Another thing you might want to check is that your links are all lower case, just in case your FTP program is converting the case of your files.

Can you post the web address so we can look at it?

Keep us informed

In answer to your question, no my FTP programme is not Dreamweaver 3, it is a programme called 'cuteFTP', if I need to install Dreamweaver off my CD, or need to adjust my settings on 'cuteFTP' then that maybe the cause. I only have my links page up at the moment on my site, because of the problems I've been having with the photo pages. But the same problem occurs with that page too, so you can see the problems for yourself by looking at my links page, which can be found at:
