Hi,

We have a TSM setup on AIX with a diskpool as diskcache which migrates to the tapepool.
We want to expand the diskpool with some extra storage.
The extra storage is now added to the volume group and we are ready to add it to the logical volume "tsmdisklv".

Do we have to stop TSM before doing this and do we have to do something on TSM after the diskpool is expanded ?
Or will is automatically detect and use the extra added space to the diskpool ?

Thanks..

How are your diskpools created? Are they raw logical volumes? If so, you have to create a new Logical volume and then add it as a volume (define vol <stgpool_name> /dev/r<logical_volume_name>). If you increase the size of the logical volume when using RLV's you will have problems.

If, on the other hand, you are using file type stgpool volumes, you can just add the space and do your define stgpool. Just do a 'help define volume' at the TSM prompt.

Good luck...

Oops.. I meant define vol - sorry...
