Hi there,

Absolutely new to XML. Have written a basic XML document and Basic DTD. When I visualise my XML in Internet Explorer, I know it first checks the DTD (because I had a mistake in it and it gave me an error message).

Now I fixed the error in DTD and IE displays my XML OK. However if I create voluntarily a mistake in my XML document (like a spelling mistake in an element or attribute choice) it still displays XML docs without complaining (thus not enforcing my DTD specs).

Have I missed something basic??

Internet Explorer will not automatically validate (check) your XML for you, you need a special validator which will do it.
Here's a site that does it for you...

Just enter the location of the file and it will find any mistakes for you.

THanks Chantey. Was simple indeed but if you don't know you don't guess!

Have a nice one.
