How to enable compression and cache on Web client (3.0)?

I am running Citrix 3.0 with web interface enterprise. 2003 server.

I discovered that compression and cache is not by default on Citrix, at least for web client.

By the way, how can I force it? I modified the appsrv.ini file (on my test client):
maximumcompression=On
persistentcache enabled=on

I put a value for the cache size and defined a path for tests (c:\cache).

But now, when I logon, I don't see any Cache folder on my client drive... So it doesn't seem the cache works... More how can I see the compression works?
