How to enable Auto-response on distribution group

Hello Friends,

I have a distribution group that needed to be decomisioned on my exchnage 2007.

I want to enable auto-response on the said distribution group so that when users send mail ti it, users will get an auto-response mail informing them what to do.

I will appreciate every ontribution to this.

AFAIK, you can't do it. Transport rules don't allow for a rule based on mail sent to a DL itself (only sent to members of a DL). No do transport rules allow for an auto reply.

You could use a Public Folder to do a reply. There is a method listed at

that should work.
