I have an all black kitten - it has a coat pattern underlying the tabby heritage it has, but this is extremely difficult to see, except on the face. Of course, the fur is anything but all black, it is shades of black to very dark brown, and reflective in some areas, duller in others. It is possible to make out some of the pattern in some photographs. How can I manipulate the image in The GIMP to emphasise the underlying pattern? Obviously, I will need to make several images to picture the pattern as a whole.

Shades of black???? :)

Black is Black (I want my baby back) White is White. It is every other colour has "shades"

Not multiple images, just layers with semi-transparent areas in the black layer (use an eraser brush)

Chris.

Indifference will be the downfall of mankind, but who cares?
