Hey guys. Our company is using the Macola Progression workflow explorer 7.9.2 (old i know). We're just trying to figure out how to customize the "search_desc" field on an item in the Item Master window. I'm logged in with a supervisor account and can't find anyway to customize it. Does anyone know if that's possible through the progression explorer? Any help would be appreciated.

Not possible in PWE or Progression explorer unless you use Flexibility aka Microsoft VBA for Macola. Macola sets search_desc = item_desc_1 by default.

You could also just write the SQL to change them on a case-by-case basis.

Also, neither of these is a very desirable solution because you could pull up an item in Macola and change say, the buyer planner, and Macola will take item_desc_1 and stuff it right back into search_desc, thus destroying your work.

If you have user defined fields that are not in use this would be much better, and you could create a custom search using the user defined field rather than search_desc.

But before we get into this too deep, what business problem are you trying to solve? Why would the item_desc_1 be insufficient to find the item you want to work with?
