How to edit/append contents of XML File through ANT

Hi,
Anyone having any idea as to how we can edit and append contents in a XML File through ANT.
That is,
a)there wil be certain new elements which i like to append in the xml file.
b)there wil be certain elements for which i would like to modify the value of its attribute.
