how to down load file

I have one problem when i give link to down load files.
if these files has extention like .asp,.htm,.txt then instead of asking for download dialoug box browser opens the
files in browser.
so can any body tell me how to download all this files instead of viewing.

If browser "reconigizes" the file types (i.e. if it knows how to display those MIME types), then it will attempt to display them, that's why you have to change the extension for html,txt,asp if you want them to be downloadable or zip them. I hope this helped.
