That depends... If you do not have any backdoors, you will probably have to reboot and interrupt the boot sequence, then boot into single user. From there you should be able to re-passwd the root passwd. Out of the box, HP-UX (10.20 & 11.0) should let you boot into single user (root id) with no passwd.
You can boot up in single user mode
when the computer is initialzing and looking for a disk to boot from, you press ESC and it loads the ISL prompt. From there you type:
>boot pri -is
then it takes you to another prompt where you type
>hpux -is
and it log's you into single user mode where you can do anything including change the password of the root.
My Name is Abdellatif, I am System admin, we have a problem in our on-net clinets, when a user try to connect to our oracle database, he gets disconected immediatly, i checked the route, and the gateway
route add default 192.168.1.55 1 but it didnt work, please can anybody help to resolve this issue.
