Hello every one

I'm trying to link my report with 18 sub-Reports. Both of them a using the same tables.
There is a parameter field in the Main report. I've created the same parameter field in my sub-Reports, but it's only possible to link once in the Subreport Links window, isn't it ?
I've passed through it by creating the same parameter field in all the sub-Reports, but now I need to introduce the same value 19 times when I run the Report. And that's not the purpose.

I've read something in the support Knowledge of Seagate, using formula field in place of paramater field. May be I don't use it efficiently because I don't have the expected result.

If someone has a suggestion ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mr. 18 Subreports, wow, you should be working at NASA!

Don't mind, I just try to be funny.

Well, I have tested riht now a way to do this and this is how:

You must take out every parameter from all your subreports, you know you can edit your subreports right-clicking on it and choose "Edit Subreport", then you go to the main report and right-click again and choose "Change Subreport Links" and there you have to choose the parameter of your main report and match it with a field in the subreport you know.

Next time you insert a subreport try to see a window tab named "Links" besides the one where you choose the subreport. In that section you can do this what I've explained from the beginning.

Hope this work.

Hi Glauco,

I know that's a little too much, but I haven't found another solution to do this report. I have one table with a field in it like:

01A1 01A2..01A6
01B1....01B6
01G1....01G6
11A1....11A4
....
11M1....11M4
....
12A1....12A4
and so on.
I've to display these datas like that:
01A1 01B1 01C1 01D1 01E1 01F1 01G1
01A2
01A3 ... 01G3
...
01A6 01B6 01G6

11A1 11B1 11C1 11D1....11M1
...
11A4 ... 11M4

12A1 ... 12M1

For your suggestion I haven't found this window Tab "links".
Does it appear on every version of CR ?
I 'am using 6.0 r 1.135.

Thanks again.

If you or another one have , another idea to do this "B..." Report , write it.

You can link all of your subreports to the same parameter in the main report. You just have to add it again for each subreport.

Select any subreport object in the design window and go to the edit menu and select "edit subreport links".

Move the parameter over once, select the first subreport and for "table" highlight the empty spot above the table names. Now you can match it to your parameter.

Move the original parameter over AGAIN for the next subreport and repeat the process for each subreport. Ken Hamady

Hi Ken

Thanks for your answer too.

I realize now that it was possible to select more than one time the parameter field from my report.
I'm really sorry to have bothered you guys with such a thing.

Have a nice week-end
