I have a flat pdf that people print off and post in completed. I noticed this today

How the hecky did they create the fillable pdf form, it limits the characters to the space and reformats when you click on another field.

I have acrobat 7 standard and can`t find any tools to let me add form elements like these.

help!!!!

You need to show the forms tool bar, then draw the form elements in the place you want them.

it's a bit like doing a html form, the form fields are the same and work the same.

however, receiving the form / form data is dependent on what you want to acheive.

the data can be sent in XFDF format, and i beleive you need a server to process this data if you wanted to update a database with the data.

or you can tell the form action to send PDF & Data via email, but the user would have to either save the form after filling it in and then attach it to an email, or if using outlook it is the same as putting <a href="MAILTO:me@mydomain.com"> as the form action and it will open outlook and attach it when the submit button is clicked.

that's about all I know as the course I went on was basic!

once you have the form designed with all the fields, then try googling XFDF / FDF and it might help with how you will process the form.
