Hi there,

I'm interested in putting our SAV 10.x web install version online for my users to self-deploy SAV 10.x.

I haven't been able to find any more detailed information about how to go about it, other than the readme.htm file that came with it (not all that helpful).

Could anyone offer any further information?

Thanks in advance.

I'm wrestling with it as well. What I do know is that the path to ProductFolderName defined in start.htm has to be exactly right relative to the virtual directory definition, or it won't find the files.ini.

I should also have mentioned that the path in the ConfigFile variable has to be correct as well; I still haven't got it right.

just point to the webpage directly on the nav server using the vphome share

you just have to make sure all your users have the correct IE rights to run it via the web

Please don't just share VPHOME over the web. If you do, you have just given all your 'trusted' a users to find out how Symantec Antivirus is configured since they have access to the GRC.DAT.

BTW. The doc mentions adding a mime type for CAB. You may need to do the same thing for INI.

Thanks oggywan - I had missed the MIME types portion. Of course, this begs the question as to why Symantec didn't include the info in your link with the web install files to begin with....

I presume there wasn't anything listed in the product manual, right? I haven't taken any time yet to check.
