How to do count(*) of a column in CR

It may be silly question, I just started working in Crystal reports, I am trying to do a column and count(*) of that column, but Group Sort Expert is not hightlighting for me, what I am missing ?? please anybody help!
Is there any other way to do it??

Right click the field in the details and select Insert->Summary->Count

You can select whether it do so for a Group or as a total.

Stating that you're trying to "do a column" conveys nothing. Please try stating specifics in future posts.

Group sort is only available after you have inserted a summary, e.g., count, on a detail field.
