How to do an average based on specified day of the week for the month

I am counting the number of open calls on a specific day of the week based on a date range, i.e. all calls for Monday June 1 thru June 28. If there are 4 Mondays for the month of June but August has 5 Mondays how can I calculate the average number of calls based on the specified day of the week?

Group by month. Do running totals that are reset for each month. Each has a formula, so that it evaluates just for Monday. One counts Mondays - it could count sometime like account name, whatever. The other sums the number of calls.

From these two, get the average using a formula field, with the % function.
