Also, once I do this. How do I forward the phantom extension to a cell phone? For example, if the receptionist gets a call for 280, she would hit the 280 button to tranfer and the call would go to the cell number assigned. Same situation if someone were to call the outside number attached to that extension. It may be better to just have the cell phone voicemail take control also instead of the avaya ext. 280. Specific instructions please. Being vague does not help.

In WinSPM, go to Print, Extension Directory. After it "prints", export the report to your desktop. Open the text file, and remove the headers and footers. Import it into Excel as fixed width, keeping just the Slot, Port, Extension Number, and Name. Ignore all the rest. Now move the 2nd set of extensions under the 1st set, so you have just 4 columns. Sort by Slot, then by Port. Compare to your System Set Up report, anything on a TDL or MLX card, above the actual physical port number is an adjunct, and used as a phantom extension.

As far as forwarding the extension, see here

And once the call has been transferred to the extension that is forwarded off site, it will NOT return to the Magix's voicemail system.

I don't have WinSPM or Socket Magix. I have to do everything from the console or a desk phone.

Well, then it's going to be more difficult. Go to Maintenance, Port, Station, dial #01-Enter, Status. This will give you the Logical ID, the Slot/Port, and Extension Number of the first extension.

Press Next, and you will see your first Adjunct. Pressing Next will step you through each station and adjunct. Your unused adjuncts will be in the 7300 range (if your default system numbering is using Set Up Space). Make yourself a list.

My Setup Space is 7099 + the Logic ID. Correct? So I'm looking for Logic Id's that are over 201.

Base it on Slot/Port instead of Logical ID, as the Logical ID of the Adjunct will be the same as the physical extension.

When you look at the status screen, if the Slot/Port is SS/01 through SS/(highest physical port number), you are looking at the actual station ports. If the Slot/Port is SS/(Number higher than the number of physical ports on the card), you're looking at an adjunct.

For instance, if you have a 412-TDL card in slot 1, the physical ports are 0101 through 0112, the Adjuncts are 0121 through 0132.

Thanks the extension does now forward to the cell phone number. One question Tommy, when a mass voicemail is sent out will it automatically go to the cell phone?

No, because a group voicemail is sent to the internal mailboxes, not the outside voicemail associated with the cell phone.

However, you can also make an internal mailbox for the phantom, and give it outcalling, which will call the cell phone user and inform them that there is a message waiting on the internal mailbox.

O.K. Do I just activate record-a-call to apply a internal mailbox and administer outcalling as well? This can be done from any phone. When the receptionist hits 280 it will go to an internal voice mail and then the voicemail will call the cell. What do I need to do?
I have to extensions to program and presently they go directly to the cell.

Not Record-A-Call

Create the mailbox for the phantom extension. Give it outcalling. Program in the outcalling number. Add it to the group list, so when the group voicemail is set it will also be sent to the phantom's internal mailbox.

Also, for outcalling to work, you will need to UNrestrict the voicemail ports, and raise their FRL to 3. By default, they are Outward Restricted, and their FRL will be 0.

There is another way to identify all your adjuncts. Go to system renumber, then single, then adjuncts. do an inspect and it will bring up all adjuncts. You may have to scroll to more than one screen. This is a quick way to figure it out.
