I have found that when typing in Word 2000 transcribing from a Digital Voice Editing Program that if the Shift button is hit to capitalise a letter before the Transcriber footpedal is depressed, a 'Shortcuts Menu' associated with using 'Shift F10' or the Right Click on a Mouse, drops down when the footpedal is actually activated. This freezes the screen & keyboard.
If the footpedal is activated before Shift is hit, there are no problems.
Is there a way to disable the Shift F10 relationship or fix the Shift before Footpedal depression outcome (Menu dropdown)??

Thank you

Perhaps if you check in the footpedal settings the pedal may be assigned to a key or function, and you could remove this setting.

Not sure about footpedals, so not sure if the settings would be within control panel or within the devices own software group.

Shift+F10 is one of those annoying built-in shortcuts that you can't turn off; if you disable the key combination, it operates as a right-click. You can (re-)assign it to run an empty macro, or do some other innocuous action, but I have no idea how that may work with your footpedal.

Enjoy,
Tony
