How to DISABLE Java?

I have tried to DISABLE Java on my computer but it keeps always showing up.



WinXP Pro SP2, IE 6 (latest)

Java 150 06-b05
-----
This is what I've done

I had the JAVA APPLET on the Java Control Panel >Internet Explorer> UNCHECKED

and also gone to

Internet Option> Advance> Java Sun >>Unchecked

Security> Custom Level> Scripting of Java> Disabled

Removed the check mark from jusched on the StartUp (Msconfig)

Restarted

And ........ Java keeps showing up automatically.

Any help on how to DISABLE Java.

Any chance on uninstalling the Java Plugin?

Thanks for your reply, I was wondering if JAVA can be Disabled without uninstalling it.

It seems odd that Java is almost like those program Bugs that are hard to get rid of, certainly opens up your computer by itself and yet you need it to run certain pages.

I would believe that they would ALLOW you to DISABLE and Enable at will.

Any ideas on how to DISABLE w/o uninstalling.

There was an option in the Plugin options that specified the browser the plugin was attached to, but cannot remember right.

Give google a try with disable java.
