I'd like to disable flash on IE6 and Firefox. I'm running on a slow machine and whenever I go on to a site that has flash, the machine just grinds to a halt. Animated gifs are OK.
I don't really want to uninstall flash. I only wish to play the animations on demand. Something like k-meleon. Maybe I'll just use k-meleon instead of messing with firefox or IE.
I was told that you can turn off Flash in the plugin control. By those that know - a bit.
What Flash doesn't want to do is be invisible so it waits till the end of the download before telling you that there is no Flash Plug-in or it is switched off.
basically no saving in time
which is significant on dial-up
good webmeisters know their audience and in my case Luddite would be about the right description and therefore I need to see what they see.
And when did eye-candy ever carry information?
I will investigate Firefox - I use Mozilla regularly. IE6 at work on broadband.
there is a tide in the affairs of man that you Cnut ignore.................
I normally use k-meleon which has an option to switch off flash. It doesn't play unless you press on the button with the arrow. It comes from the same codebase as Firefox but I couldn't figure out where it was, hence the question.
