how to disable auto bulleting.

Editing a list of items in word 2000 document, I regularly like to do
a)....
b)....
etc, but am using a 3 column layout. after a).... <return> word automatically starts a buleted sequence with pre-set indents which are wrong for my column. How can I diable this auto-bulleting feature to allow me to simply type in the lines myself? For me this would be faster than always having to ajust tabs & indents.

Try Tools->Autocorrect, Autoformat As You Type Tab.
