Hi web browser experts,

I have IE 7 and I'm very annoyed by a pop-up box I sometimes get when I close certain web pages - "Do you want to close this window?". I have to click 'Yes' to actually close that page.

Is there a setting to prevent that in IE 7? I searched this forum but got nothing.

Thanks, John

Well, I get the window belongs to the webpage, no pop-up blockers or toolbars around.

Then one option is to disable Javascript, but you may lose functionality. Another way is mail the webmaster to complain about the page and stop visiting it.

That way, web developers would stop making all those dirty and annoying pop-ups

Cheers,
Dian

Thanks, Dian.

Yeah, I was worried for awhile (after I upgradede to IE 7) but I have only encountered this annoyance on 1 or 2 webistes, so I can deal with that I suppose. Other than that, I like IE 7 alright. And I may have got these pop-ups when i used IE 6 on these sites, don't remember for sure.
