Greetings,
We have a Dell server running 2003 server, this is mainly setup for remote CAD work. I need to reboot the mach but do not know how to tell if anyone is working on it remotely. Dumb question I know but have to learn somehow. Thanks in advance

Depends on what you mean by "remote CAD work". If they are accessing it via RDP client, you can just bring up task manager and click on the users tab, that will show all the users with RDP sessions. If they are just accessing network shares on the server, you can right click My Computer and click Manage, then under Shared Folders look at Sessions and Open Files, this will tell you who's connected what files they have locks on.

Hope this helps,

If I may,

RDP sessions are listed in the terminal server manager

VPN connections are shown in RRAS
