Hello, I am wondering how a 3rd party application know when a call has finished? Is there an interface or hardware that is provided, so that there is something the program can hook to? This is so that the program will automatically start once it sensed that a call has finished.

Most can detect disconnect recognition from the carrier. Digital lines (PRI + SIP) have a positive disconnect. For ground start potts lines removal of the ground is a positive disconnect. For loop start lines, it can either be a battery reversal or time disconnect. Potts lines with no disconnect will not know the call was disconnected. Most PBX systems use GD start or digital lines.

I think the OP is looking for something like UC Suite to trigger other programs.
