I'd like to add a conditional to the On_Activate event to examine what view a report is opening in, and bring up the print dialogue if the rpeort is opening in acViewNormal. Is there an easy way to do this?

TIA,
Drew
Easiest way is make the user open your report is with a command button only. Don't allow them an option.
Make 2 buttons, One for Viewing and one for Printing.
Then in each button put what ever you want to look for.

DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.

Dang, forgot to check the thread...

It's that I'm developing off-site, and can't be sure what type/port of printer will be used for printing. I've read of prtdev(sp?) strings, and their manipulation, but haven't ventured there yet.

desiboy - I'm somewhat concerned over using sendkeys due to multiple postings on the newsgroup regarding their efficiency.

Thank you for your responses,
Drew
