I'm working on a product that has been through many revisions and updates, and during this time development has lost track of all the privileges required to use the product. Is there anyway I can determine what Oracle privileges are being used by this product? For example, is there some way to turn tracing on, run through the product and see a list of everything that was required to do what it does? Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Jason

Hello Jason,

You should determine which user account is used by your application (monitor v$session and v$sqlarea).

Then you can search the privileges used in the dba_privs, dba_sys_privs or something like that to see which privileges are used by that specific user. You might also check the dba_roles view.

Hth,

Seagull
