How do I do search on a record set ( column: Order Date ) and return the value of the last Order Date ( most recent )?

Step two:

I want to return this value once per customer, however, I have to link our customer master to our order master table so I'm faced with a "one to many" record relation between the two tables.

Appreciate any assistance in this matter.

Thank you,

Andrew

I think you need something like this.

First of all set the report to sort on customer id then Order date Descending. This should put your latest date first for each customer. Then in design right click the Details section, choose format section then click on the X.2 button next to Suppress (no drilldown)and in there put customer_id = previous(customer_id) Learn something new every day *:->*

Make sure you GROUP on Customer and then sort on Order date. You can also use the MAXIMUM function to find the highest value in any column. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Once you have grouped you can suppress all of the details. You put the customer ID and the date in the Group Footer(if you are sorting ascending) and suppress the Group Header. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting
