I've deployed the HP SIM agent for simple server monitoring on a lot of servers, but the agent totally mess up virtual servers. So I've excluded VMWare servers from the HP SIM client installation by checking the vmware service running on the machine, but I can't find a similar service for Microsoft Virtual Machine.

Do you have any suggestion how I can rule out the servers run on Microsoft Virtual servers at well? I'm open for all suggestions on how to add such a Query under Membership Rules for my collections.

This should work for you.

select SMS_R_System.Name, SMS_G_System_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.Manufacturer, SMS_R_System.SMSAssignedSites, SMS_R_System.IPAddresses, SMS_R_System.IPSubnets, SMS_R_System.OperatingSystemNameandVersion, SMS_R_System.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup, SMS_R_System.SMSUniqueIdentifier, SMS_R_System.ResourceId, SMS_R_System.ResourceType, SMS_R_System.NetbiosName from SMS_R_System inner join SMS_G_System_COMPUTER_SYSTEM on SMS_G_System_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.ResourceID = SMS_R_System.ResourceId where SMS_G_System_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.Manufacturer in ("VMware, Inc.","Microsoft Corporation")

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.

Thanks a lot! I'll check it out tomorrow. Just have to get my hands on a few test servers.
