hi guys,

am running on a Ultra 5, IDE,400 Mhz Solaris 2.6.
I have a maxtor 20 Gb hard disk and the system only detects
8Gb. how do i detect the full capacity of the disk ? Thx !

the disk partition is not completed, use 'format'
to define partitions, then 'newfs' and 'mount' -----------
when they don't ask you anymore, where they are come from, and they don't tell you anymore, where they go ... you'r getting older !

but during a fresh Solaris 2.6 installation using the Solaris cdrom, why didn't the system detect the full disk capacity ?

i allways make the partition by hand, to prevent
stupid defaults and computing mistakes :( -----------
