How to detect a rightclick

Why isn't there a 'onrightclick'?
Any suggestions for coding one simply would be appreciated. It should be within an <a></a> tag to be useful.

Because we like the context menu that appears on right click. Why would you like to meddle with that?

You may have reasons why something is not a good idea and can articulate why that is so and why it should not be done. And many people may well agree with you and that is fine.
