hi,
has anyone an idea of how to create a new project from an
existing one.
I need to add some changes to an existing project but I want
to create a new project from the old to do that.
copying and renaming the project-directory and editing the
code worked but the new exe won't run.

The cleanest way is create a new project of the same type as the old one. Then, copy the source files and resource files to the new directories. In the new project in Visual Studio, use "Add files to project" and make sure your project settings are the same.

I've also tried copying and renaming, but it's a big mess.
