Could have SWORN I posted this here earlier today, but can't find any trace of it now:
Hey there... wondering if anyone out there knows the trick to getting rid of this pesky folder. A default install of VMware Server 1.04 on a WinXP host creates a 'Virtual Machines' folder under the C: drive and a 'My Virtual Machines' folder under 'My Documents'... Going to the Host->Settings configuration dialog shows that the 'Default location for virtual machines' is set to the folder under the C: drive... easy enough to change, and VMware does indeed 'pay attention' to the specified folder in all the dialogs...
However, if you delete the directory under the 'My Documents' folder, it is recreated every time you restart the VMware console... This is really irritating, and makes VMware one of many applications that likes to clutter up the "My Documents" folder making it distinctly not "My" documents folder...
I've searched the registry for hints about the use of this location in order to edit or eliminate it and have come up empty.
Any ideas or info about this folder?
