I am using a trial version of ID CS6 with Windows 7.

I have 11 pages in 11 spreads. Some of those pages were imported from Word, including two pages of a TOC. I'm trying to delete those two pages. When I do, some of my other pages disappear. There must be a link (though I cannot find it) or something I don't understand about spreads. Can anyone tell me how to resolve that?

InDesign imports the Word content into linked text frames. Deleting an InDesign page will not delete the Word "pages". The Word content may reflow or break the linked text frames.

To get rid of the Word content, use InDesign's text tool, highlight select the unwanted 2 pages of content, then delete. The text should reflow and leave the last two pages of your InDesign document blank (with empty text frames). Now those pages can be deleted from InDesign's pages panel.
