How to delete mailbox correctly from Exchange 2003

Hi all,

I have exchange 2003. I have a few users who have left and would like to delete their mailbox of the exchange server, mainly to clear of some space. I have ran Exmerge and copied the users mailbox to a .pst file so that I can import into outlook if there is ever a need. But when I try the delete the mailbox it doesnt remove from the mailbox list in exchange system Manager. Is there a way of doing this. I havent deleted the AD account only deleted the mailbox, I would like to keep the account in Ad but just disable it. I have changed the retention setting from 30 to 0 and changed the option of only delete after a backup as been done, but the mailbox still appears in the mailbox list.

Any idea anyone?

You need to run the cleanup agent, or wait for your normal daily maintenance to run.
