Our server (virtual server hosted at our Webhoster, 1 Gb space, running linux and confixx ) has been giving us trouble sending larger mail. Upon feedback from their tech support, they mentioned that the system logs all mails sent and received and that we should regularly clean these log files to make sure that we don't reach our space limit.

Quetions:

1. how can locate where this/these log file(s) is/are?
2. can i find them with putty?
3. how can I delete or clear them?

In the mean time, we delete a couple of hundres of Mb that were just archived files, but since the log file will continue growing in since as we work with e-mails, it's only a ticking bomb.

I'm quite new to the use of putty and linux/unix commands, but I still would like to learn how to be independent in such matters and rely on your support.

Looking forward to your replies, hoping this thread was posted under the right section...
