Every help to do this refers to word 2007 or earlier even though the headings for the helps say, "delete all footnotes in Word 2010."

I get stumped at the 3rd step in one of these (2010 >>> 2007) helps that says: Select the "Replace" button from the "Editing" section...

I do not find an "Editing" section in Word 2010

Have you tried adding it to your Quick Access Toolbar?
Select the Office button, then select Word Options.
Select customize in the left panel.
Choose commands from (drop down): select Home Tab.
Select the command(s) you need and click the Add button.

No Office button on the Quick Access Toolbar:
New
Open
Save
Email
Quick Print
Print Preview and Print
Spelling and Grammer
Undo
Redo
Draw Table
Open Recent File
More Commands = about 25 more commands but no Office button
Show Below the Ribbon

The ribbon has the following headings which do not include an Office button:
File Home Insert Page Layout References Mailings Review View

No Office button under File drop down menu
No Office button on Home ribbon,
nor on Insert Ribbon,
nor on Page Layout Ribbon,
etc.

It is probably right in front of my face but I do not see the Office button.

Code:
Sub RemoveAllFootnotes()
    Dim fn As Footnote

    For Each fn In ThisDocument.Footnotes
      fn.Delete
    Next
End Sub

The Editing section is on the Home tab, on the right side, in Word 2010.

Hi metmanners,

Using Find/Replace (eg via Ctrl-H)
Find = ^f
Replace = nothing

In the Find/Replace dialogue, to get to the function that inserts the '^f' for you, select the Find box then choose More > Special > Footnote Mark.
